What Are Expedition Projects?

Expedition Projects represent Arc Raiders' innovative approach to progression resets. Rather than forcing mandatory wipes that erase all player progress, Embark Studios has created a voluntary reset mechanic that allows players to choose when—and if—they want to reset their character.

This system is designed to keep the game fresh and competitive while respecting the time investment players have made in building their characters. As Virgil, the game's design director, explains: completing an Expedition Project gives you exclusive rewards and permanent account benefits without giving you any combat advantage over players who haven't reset.

Key Principle: Completing a reset should never give a player a power or combat advantage over anyone who has not completed a reset.

How Expedition Projects Work

60

Construction Phase (~60 Days)

Players at level 20 and above contribute materials and resources toward project completion. Work together with the community to advance through all 6 project phases during this 8-week period.

5

Departure Window (5 Days)

After construction completes, a 5-day departure window opens (Season 3: April 28–May 4, 2026). During this window, deal damage to earn up to 5 Skill Points, then depart automatically when the window closes. Miss the signup? The Last Call feature offers a final registration popup at next login — no Skill Points, but you still participate.

Seasonal Cycles

Each Expedition season runs for approximately 60 days + 7-day departure. Complete multiple Expeditions to stack permanent buffs and collect exclusive cosmetics from each season.

Season 3 Rewards & Buffs

Completing Expedition 3 provides both permanent account unlocks and temporary buffs for your next Raider. Full Patchwork outfit unlocked after this Expedition.
