Understanding Extraction
Extraction is your ticket home to Speranza with all collected loot. No matter how much you've gathered, it's worthless if you don't extract successfully. This guide will teach you how to maximize your extraction success rate.
Extraction Methods
🛗 Elevators (Common)
✅ Advantages
- No special items required
- Multiple locations available
- Countdown timers visible on map
❌ Disadvantages
- Creates loud alarm when called
- Broadcasts position to everyone
- Attracts ARCs and Raiders
- High risk of ambush
🚪 Raider Hatches (Safe)
✅ Advantages
- Safest extraction method
- No alarm or broadcast
- Opens instantly with a key
- No shutdown timer, so it works late in the raid
❌ Disadvantages
- Requires Raider Hatch Key (expensive)
- Single-use consumable
- Lost permanently if you die
- Limited availability
Elevator Extraction Tactics
🎯 Don't Be First
Let others trigger the elevator first. Clean up the chaos they create while you wait for a safer moment.
🔭 Scout the Zone
Approach extraction zones cautiously. Use binoculars or scopes to check for campers before committing.
🎭 Use Decoys
Lure Grenades or a Remote Raider Flare can bait other squads. Make them reveal their position first.
👥 Exit as Unit
If playing with a team, coordinate your extraction. Don't leave teammates behind.
⏰ Timing Matters
Extract mid-raid when possible. Final extraction points attract everyone.
👁️ Assume Watchers
Always assume someone is watching the extraction. Plan accordingly.
Raider Hatch Strategy
Key Management
Store in Safe Pocket! Before deploying, always move your Raider Hatch Key to a Safe Pocket slot. Dying with it in regular inventory means losing it permanently.
When to Use
- High-value loot runs: When carrying expensive or rare items
- Late in raid: When final extraction is too dangerous
- After big fights: When you're low on resources but have good loot
- Quest completions: When you must extract safely with quest items
Where to Find Keys
- Buy from Shani (100 Cred, 2 per day, until Cred is retired on October 8, 2026)
- Scavenge them from containers
- Quest rewards
- Craft at the Utility Station (level 2) from 1 Advanced Electrical Components and 3 Sensors, or in the field with the Traveling Tinkerer skill
Safe Pocket Essentials
Your Safe Pocket is your lifeline: items there survive death. You only get 1 to 3 slots depending on your augment, and only the Looting Mk. 3 (Safekeeper) augment accepts any item type, so use them wisely:

- Rare ARC parts (Queen/Matriarch drops)
- Expensive crafting materials
- Blueprints you haven't learned yet

Combat During Extraction
Pre-Extraction Prep
- Full health & shields: Heal before approaching
- Reload all weapons: Don't get caught mid-reload
- Check stamina: Ensure you can dodge/sprint
- Grenade ready: Have utility items equipped
Engagement Rules
Rule 1: Only fight if absolutely necessary
Rule 2: If you must fight, fight to win quickly
Rule 3: Know when to disengage and wait
Rule 4: Dead = no loot. Survival > kills
Cover Positions

The Crawling Extraction
🚨 Unique Mechanic
Arc Raiders features a rare mechanic: even if you're knocked down and crawling, you can still activate extraction and escape!
How It Works
- Get knocked down by enemy fire
- Crawl towards extraction elevator
- Reach the console
- Activate extraction while crawling
- Survive until elevator arrives
- Extract successfully despite being downed
Noise Management
Everything makes noise near extraction. Minimize your audio signature:
- Shooting weapons
- Calling elevator
- Running/sprinting
- Recharging shields
- Walking normally
- Looting containers
- Using abilities
- Healing items
- Crouching
- Standing still
- Holstered weapon
- Observing/waiting
Essential Skills for Extraction
⚡ Mobility
- Marathon Runner: moving costs less stamina
- Youthful Lungs: bigger stamina pool for the final sprint
- Effortless Roll: cheaper dodges when you get jumped
💪 Conditioning
- Used To The Weight: shields slow you down less
- Downed But Determined: more time to crawl to extraction when downed
- Loaded Arms: your weapon weighs half as much
🏃 Survival
- Agile Croucher: move faster while sneaking
- Broad Shoulders: carry more loot out
- Stubborn Mule: less stamina penalty when over-encumbered
Common Extraction Mistakes
❌ Rushing to Extraction
Take time to scout. A few extra seconds of caution can save your entire run.
❌ Forgetting to Reload
Always reload before approaching extraction zones. Don't get caught empty.
❌ Not Using Safe Pocket
Put your most valuable item there before the final push.
❌ Ignoring Timer
Watch extraction timers. Don't arrive too early or too late.
❌ Solo Heroics
If with a team, coordinate. Don't try to be a hero and die alone.
XP & Progression Tips
You earn XP for almost everything you do topside: 3 XP per second spent in the raid, XP for every container you search, for damaging ARC and Raiders, and for extracting.
Maximize XP Gain
- Open every container (XP even if you don't take items)
- Survive longer (time alive = more XP)
- Complete objectives
- Extract successfully
- Loot enemy bodies
Progression Strategy
Multiple successful extractions with moderate loot beats one failed run with amazing loot. Consistency > greed.
